Summary of Program:

Empowerment Through Movement is a workshop led by The Creative Movement Company to use the art of movement to provide a creative and self-expressive outlet for survivors.  This workshop encourages participants to move freely through improvisation and creative movement methods, uniting mind and body in a positive and lighthearted manner.  This program does not require any dance training or experience, it is designed for those willing to explore movement in a non-judgmental and supportive environment.

Bio:

The Creative Movement Company (TCMC) was created by Jennifer Rosoff.  She created her company to use movement as a vehicle for healing and to bring joy to the Tampa Bay community.  As Owner and Director of her dance business Jennifer teaches all ages from toddlers through elderly in a variety of dance styles including: Hip-hop, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Creative Movement.  In addition, TCMC focuses on choreographing, dance consulting, arts event planning and specializes in Creative Movement Healing, this is a method of using movement designed for those with unique developmental and emotional needs to ultimately lead to confidence, empowerment, and healing.

Under Jennifer's leadership The Creative Movement Company's most recent accomplishments include the organization of Tampa's first annual National Dance Day event, and Flash Mob choreography for the United Way of Tampa Bay's 2011 Kickoff Event and the Gasparilla International Film Festival.  In February 2011, Jennifer was selected as an artist for Lights on Tampa, where she created Shadow Plays, an interactive dance portion of the event for all ages and abilities.  She is an active Board Member for the Hillsborough Artist Advisory Committee, helping coordinate events such as Art After Dark at the Tampa Museum of Art and other special events to promote local artists.
